Overlooking  the  villages of Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket, the Hudscales Camping Barn is situated on a working beef and sheep farm, offering great access to the Northern Fells, the Cumbria Way and Reivers Cycle Routes.  With accommodation for up to 12 people, the barn offers a stay you will never forget.

We talked to Elizabeth Cowx who manages the camping barn on the family run farm about how online connectivity supports what they do.

Elizabeth said: “the position of our Barn is great for walkers, cyclists and the gathering of family and friends. I think we offer something different to other camping facilities in the area and receive really positive feedback from those who stay with us, who really enjoy our facilities and all the surrounding area offers”.

“Online connectivity is really important to supporting what we do, enabling us to create  and  manage  our  website  which  allows  prospective holiday makers the opportunity to check availability, prices, and book a stay with us.  Our connection enables us to keep our social media page current with regular posts and the publicising of availability and offers. We receive many of our enquiries through these forums which make our business available around the clock, something which I think is really important for businesses within the tourism sector particularly. These enquires can be managed from a range of devices depending on whether we are on or off site”.

The barn offers a sleeping area with adjoining cooking and dining area, showers and a wood burning stove for added comfort.  Upstairs there is a games room with pool
table and darts to keep all entertained. Perfect for individual travellers or groups, the barn offers a tranquil escape from the stresses of modern day living”.

“Behind the scenes, our broadband service supports much more than what is visible. We do our online banking, make bookings, manage correspondence and fulfil any online
form requirements. There are so many administrative tasks which can be carried out more efficiently online”.

“The outdoor mobile connectivity in our area is relatively good.  This enables our holiday makes to choose between maintaining access to their digital worlds, or switching off and making the most of the tranquillity which surrounds them. We love to receive positive feedback from those who stay with us and encourage reviews via our social media page. This gives a real feel for the stay we offer, and we are really proud of the reviews featured here”.

Elizabeth  would  encourage  other  businesses  and  residents  to  check  out  the connectivity options available to them: “online connectivity supports so many aspects of our business, we would honestly struggle to do what we do without it”.
